I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut and matted it using Nestibilities. The background paper is from Me to You. I border-punched the edge of the paper and a separate piece of blue card using Tonic border punches and finished with some sticky gems.

I hope you can join us this week.

Will You Miss Us?

One of our colleagues is retiring, and I've made a card for our planning group to sign. I work in a school for children with learning difficulties, and over half of the children have a diagnosis of being on the Autistic Spectrum.

Although they're not wearing school uniform, these two Mo Manning images are perfect! Between learning delays and the need to control their environment, we see a lot of 'terrible twos' type tantrums! It's definitely one of the more challenging things we deal with at work.

I printed the combined image quite big, outlining  it and adding the sentiment in Photoshop Elements, then coloured with Promarkers. The paper is from a Pamela West CD, and I've finished the card using a Martha Stewart border die and lots of sticky gems!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Whoopsie Daisy where they're looking for punched elements,
Pause, Dream, Enjoy where anything goes,
Through the Craftroom Door where anything goes,

See the challenge blog for more details.

This week I worked with an image from Kaz Krafts called Butterfly Scent.

I coloured the image with Promarkers. The die cuts are Nestibilities, and I edged the image and paper (from Papermania) with Glamour Dust. The lace is a bit of a find, s far as I'm concerned. It's from Tiger, and if you've got a shop near you, check it out - it's ready to stick!

I hope you can join us this week.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 87

This time at Crafty Cardmakers, the challenge, set by my team mate Yvonne, is 'Friendship'. She wants to see the word 'Friend' or 'Friendship' somewhere on your creation.

Our sponsors this time are:
and

For more details of prizes, see the challenge blog - the link's in my sidebar.

I got to work with one of the image from sponsor Saturated Canary. I haven't worked with any of their digis before, but they always look lovely so I was keen to try.

I didn't set out to make a large card, but it ended up eight by eight! I'm kind of between trimmers at the moment, so I decided to rely on die cuts as far as possible.

I added the words in Photoshop elements before printing, then cut the image with a Spellbinders die. And that's when the card started to grow! I was planning on using one of the larger Labels 1 (from Spellbinders) to matt with, but when I saw how it looked skewed through 45 degrees, I had to go that way, and that made it too big for my normal six by six cards. I've matted using blue mirriboard and some gorgeous foiled paper I got a while ago from Craft Creations. The bottom layer is another bit of blue mirriboard, and on top of that, I've used some pearlescent pink which I've cut using my new Marianne Anja corner die.

I hope you can join us this time.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Lady Anne where anything goes,
One Stop Craft Challenge where anything goes,
Clearly Inspired where anything goes,
Digital Tuesday where they want something 'framed',

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 155

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we're challenging you to leave your patterned papers in the drawer/cupboard/ or wherever you store them! And, you can go further, keeping everything in the background plain white (although that's not a requirement!)

We're sponsored by

See the Challenge Blog for details.

I decided to get started on some Easter cards, and I chose a fabulous image from Hope Jacare called Thistle Cross. (Even better as I'm s Scot!)

I added the words in Photoshop Elements before printing, then coloured with Promarkers.

I decided I'd keep the rest (almost) white, but I did use some purple card to separate the various layers. The image is cut using a die by Nellie Snellen, and the embossing uses folders by Crafters Companion.

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Card Maniac Challenges where they want lots of layers. (I've used 6 - hope that's enough!)

Angels ...

A colleague of mine has a mum who loves angels, and she's got a birthday coming up. As a result (and without too much persuading) I headed over to the Crafts and Me site and picked up a few Sarah Burrier images. I coloured up a couple and took them, along with some other images I had stamped to see what she'd prefer.

The first image is one I've nearly bought many times. I love celtic knotwork, and it's such a pretty image. I printed it a bit smaller than I should have. (I've got a batch of cards that are a bit smaller, and I'm still working out the best size to print.) I coloured with Promarkers and mounted it on some sparkly black card and some pearlescent vellum. The paper is from my stash, and I've added a Spellbinders decorative circle and a doily.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Digi Haven where the theme is 'green',
LEJ Designs where they want 'things with wings,

I love this image. Again, coloured with Promarkers with some glitter added to the wings. I've finished with some borders cut using Tonic punches, and added even more glitter. The paper is from Papermania.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Sparkle and Sprinkle where anything goes with gilitter,
Bunny Zoe where they want 'girly',
Tuesday Alchemy where anything goes,

And this is the one she chose! It's a Molly Harrison image from a Crafts and Me stamp. Again, coloured with Promarkers with glitter added to the wings and the star. The background is Coredinations Black Magic which I embossed using an Embossalicious folder and sanded. Although it's not obvious, I also added some glitter to the flower centres to break up the black a bit more. I've used a different pair of Tonic border punches, and finished with some sticky gems.

Fairies and angels are favourites with a number of people I make cards for, so I'm sure the other two won't be around for very long!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Totally Papercrafts where they want us to 'punch it',
Emerald Faerie where they want bling,
Paper Playtime where anything goes.

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 154

We're having another 'anything goes' challenge this week at One Stitch at a Time, so show us what you can do! Don't forget, first prize is limited to those who use a Stitchy Bear Shop image, and there are loads to choose from, so why not pick one up and have a go!

We're sponsored this week by

See the Challenge Blog (link in my side bar) for more details.

I worked with an image from IKEsART called Geranium Basket which I coloured with Promarkers.

I decided to go for pink geraniums rather than the more normal red, and I teamed the image with some Kate Knight paper in a riot of colours. To finish, I've used some dies from Spellbinders and Sizzix and a ready-made felt flower that came from the local 99p shop.

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly where anything goes,
Partytime Tuesdays where they want die cuts,
Passion for Promarkers where they want 'one for the ladies',
ABC Challenges where anything goes,
Paper Playtime where anything goes,

The Paper Shelter where they want punches or dies.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 86

This time at Crafty Cardmakers, the challenge is set by my team-mate Rebecca. She wants us to make a masculine birthday card, but it has to include some sort of gadget - electronic or even a car!

Our sponsors this time are:
and

I was asked to make a card for a colleague's son, and decided that a Kenny K image which was a freebie some time ago would be perfect!

I mean, what teenager would be seen around town without an MP3 player attached to their ears?

I made the background and sentiment in Photoshop Elements and printed it onto Ryman Matte coated Ink jet paper. The image was printed onto Ryman ink jet card and coloured with Promarkers before being cut out and slightly shaped. I attached it to the background using Collall Glue Gel so it stands proud of the background.

I hope you can join us this time!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Digital Tuesday where the theme is 'birthdays',
Craft Us Crazy where anything goes,
Divas by Design where anything goes,
No Matter Which where anything goes,
That Craft Place where anything goes,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 153

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we're (sort of) celebrating Spring with our theme of 'Go Green'! That can be literal (with green colours) or you can recycle.

Our sponsor is

See the challenge blog for details.

I had a image from Barbara Jensen to work with this week, and I chose a cute girl who goes by the name of Lolly Poppy. And I chose to use the colour green since I didn't have anything handy to recycle ...

I added the sentiment in Photoshop Elements before printing, then coloured with a mix of Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I cut the image and matt using a Sizzix Framelets die set. The background was debossed using a Crafter's Companion embossing folder. (Yes, it was an accident - but I liked the effect so it stayed ...) The card is Papermania pearlescent, and I've finished using a new Sizzix Thinlits border die and some sticky gems.

I hope you can join us this week.
